5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Methyl red was tested only by the oral route in rats. The inadequacy
of the experiment does not allow an evaluation of the data with regard
to the carcinogenicity of this compound.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
