5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal data
2,4-Diaminotoluene is carcinogenic in rats after its oral
administration, producing hepatocellular carcinomas, and after its
subcutaneous injection, inducing local sarcomas.
5.2 Human data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group (see, however, 'General Remarks on the Substances
Considered').
