FIRE Flammable. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.  NO open flames, NO sparks and NO smoking. NO contact with oxidizing agents.  Use water spray, powder, alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide. 
EXPLOSION Above 29°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.  Above 29°C use a closed system, ventilation and explosion-proof electrical equipment.  In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. 
 
EXPOSURE   PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! AVOID ALL CONTACT!  IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR! 
Inhalation Burning sensation. Cough. Sore throat. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Symptoms may be delayed. See Notes.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention. 
Skin Redness. Pain. Skin burns.  Protective gloves. Protective clothing.  First rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Refer for medical attention . 
Eyes Redness. Pain. Severe deep burns.  Wear face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention. 
Ingestion Burning sensation. Abdominal pain. Shock or collapse.  Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention . 

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL
PACKAGING & LABELLING
Remove all ignition sources. Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations. Wash away remainder with plenty of water. Do NOT wash away into sewer.  Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.
Unbreakable packaging.
Put breakable packaging into closed unbreakable container.

Decomposes on burning. This produces toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides. The substance is a medium strong base. Reacts with acids and oxidants. This generates fire and explosion hazard. Attacks copper, zinc, their alloys, aluminium and galvanized steel. Solutions in water slowly etch glass.

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion. 

Inhalation risk
No indication can be given about the rate at which a harmful concentration of this substance in the air is reached on evaporation at 20°C. 

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation may cause lung oedema. See Notes. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

NOTES
The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort.
Rest and medical observation is therefore essential.
Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered.
