Summary of Evaluations Performed by the
Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives

CALCIUM FROM CALCIUM SALTS OF FOOD ADDITIVES
Latest evaluation: 2000
Report: TRS 901-JECFA 55/71
Intake: 2000, TRS 999-JECFA 55/71. No data on calcium intake from food additives or from other sources were available to the Committee. To determine the contribution of calcium salts of food additives to the total intake of calcium (e.g., naturally occurring calcium, food fortificants, discretionary use of supplements and pharmaceutical (antacid) preparations) would require data on the levels of use and the food groups in which those food additives are permitted.
