5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Carmoisine was tested in mice and rats by the oral and subcutaneous
routes. The test by the oral route in mice was negative. The other
studies could not be evaluated because of the small numbers of animals
used.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
