5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Evans blue was carcinogenic in one study in rats when administered
intraperitoneally, the only species and route tested. It produced
sarcomas of the reticuloendothelial system in the liver.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
