5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Orange I has been tested by the oral route in mice, rats and dogs, but
the studies could not be evaluated due to inadequate reporting. It was
also tested by the subcutaneous route in rats, producing injection
site tumours.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
