5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Sudan red 7B was tested only by the oral route in rats. Although the
available studies did not demonstrate a significant increase in tumour
incidence, they were considered inadequate for evaluation.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
