5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Yellow OB was tested in mice by subcutaneous injection and in rats by
oral and subcutaneous administration. Although the feeding experiments
in rats and the subcutaneous injection studies in mice were negative,
the colour produced local tumours in rats following its subcutaneous
administration.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
