5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal data
Dithranol is a tumour-promoting agent in mouse skin carcinogenesis
experiments following initiation with either
7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene or urethane. An increased incidence of
lymphomas was also observed in mice painted with dithranol after
urethane initiation.
5.2 Human data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
