5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal data
Ethionamide is carcinogenic in mice after its oral administration, the
only species and route of administration tested: it produced thyroid
carcinomas.
5.2 Human data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
