5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation

5.1 Animal data

In the only study available, para-aminobenzoic acid was tested in mice by skin application; no carcinogenic effects were observed. The available data are insufficient for an evaluation of the carcinogenicity of this compound to be made.

5.2 Human data

No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the Working Group.
