Description Calcium iodate monohydrate occurs as a white powder and may have a slight odour. Uses As a rapid oxidizing agent used for strengthening flour. Evaluation There is no reason to believe that calcium iodate differs toxicologically from potassium iodate. For the reasons stated under potassium iodate no estimate was made of the acceptable level of treatment of flour.
