5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
2,6-Diamino-3-(phenylazo) pyridine was tested only in mice by implantation
of cholesterol pellets containing this substance into the urinary bladders,
in which it produced benign and malignant tumours. However, the statistical
significance of this experiment is doubtful. No evaluation can be made.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
