ETHIOFENCARB JMPR 1978
Explanation
Ethiofencarb was evaluated by the Joint Meeting in 1977
(FAO/WHO, 1978b). Further data from supervised trials on other
crops were considered desirable. Some additional data have been
provided and are evaluated below.
RESIDUES IN FOOD AND THEIR EVALUATION
RESIDUES RESULTING FROM SUPERVISED TRIALS
New data are summarized in Table 1. Sweden reported the
registration of the compound in potatoes, broad beans, vegetables
(0.5 kg a.i./ha) and in orchard crops (0.05%) with a pre-harvest
interval of 21 days.
APPRAISAL
The data from additional supervised trials support the
recommendations of the previous evaluation. Maximum residue limits
for new commodities cannot be proposed.
FURTHER WORK OR INFORMATION
Desirable
1. Further residue data from supervised trials on crops on which
ethiofencarb is know to be used.
